AAA Library Spaces & Equipment

The Architecture & Allied Arts Library is located in the south wing of Lawrence Hall. All services are ADA-accessible. If you want assistance for any disability related reason, ask at the service desk. Access to adaptive technology is also available in many locations around campus.

Computer workstations

The Architecture & Allied Arts Library provides 16 public workstations with differing capabilities. Priority use of library computers is for work connected to UO research and coursework.

  • Web access.  Four workstations provide web access to the full extent of the UO Library's online system including databases.  A flatbed scanner is attached to one of these stations.  No login is required for web access computers.
  • Productivity.  Twelve workstations (both MS Windows and Mac OS) provide a wide range of productivity software including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite. These machines also provide email and other internet access, as well as use of library CDs, DVDs, and software, for UO students, staff, and faculty. Log-in required.
  • Scanners include 4 flatbed scanners (3 US Letter/A4 size and 1 Tabloid/A3) and one 35mm slide scanner.  The flatbed scanners can also scan film/slides.  One of the tabloid scanners is available for general use without a UO student or staff account.

Printers

Computer content may be printed, emailed, or downloaded on thumbdrives.  Printing output is in the AAA Library Photocopy Room.

  • Black-&-white printing.  Cost: 8 cents per sheet. Size: 8.5" x 11" only.
  • Color printing.  Cost: 50 cents per 8.5" x 11" print or $1.00 per 11" x 17" print.
  • Large scale output.  Print to the nearby A&AA output room.

Printing in the Library requires a Campus Cash card. You may also print to AAA Library printers from your laptop with wireless network access; to set up your computer, read the instructions for laptop printing.

Copiers

The Photocopy Room is located next to the circulation desk. Both black & white and color copying is available. All photocopiers take Campus Cash cards. One of the black & white machines accepts coins or $1.00 bills. Prices are as follows:

  • Black & white copier:  $.08 (card) or $.10 (cash) per copy
  • Color copier: $1.00 (card) per copy

Users of Library copiers, scanners, and computers hold responsibility for ensuring that their use of these resources conforms to United States Copyright Law (Title 17 US Code).

About Campus Cash

Campus Cash uses the UOCard (Photo ID) as a debit card for printing and copying. All UO students, faculty, and staff have a pre-established Campus Cash accounts. Most accounts are already activated. To begin using it, you will only need to make a deposit into your account.

You can add money to your account in a number of places on campus, including the Hearth Cafe on the second floor of Lawrence Hall. UO students, faculty, and staff can also add funds to their Campus Cash account via Duckweb; look for the "QuickPay" option in the Student Menu or Employee Information.

Campus Cash accounts are also available for non-UO patrons. Cards are available for purchase at the Knight Library circulation desk or the EMU PhotoID office.
