Many libraries will not lend their media materials. You may be able to obtain the item more quickly at a nearby video rental store.
For quickest delivery, first check Summit. If not available to you there, use WorldCat to place your request.
Articles
Requests articles submitted through a FirstSearch database or other electronic indices and using the
. If the material you need is not available in any of these databases, you may request the item using the Journal Article Request Form. These articles arrive within 2 - 4 days at your desktop computer. If the owning libraries charge, the fee is passed on to non-faculty borrowers. Photocopy charges average between $10-$15 per article.
Dissertations
Many dissertations can be borrowed from the university where they were written. They also can be purchased through University Microforms for $29. A print copy is sent to your home within 5 - 7 days. Policies regarding fees and charges are the same as those for books.
Microforms
Find the title in Worldcat and enter the dates you need in the "Comments" box. Delivery times and policies regarding fees are and charges are the same those for books.
UO students and staff: Usually, there is no charge for borrowing books and obtaining journal articles. If there is a fee, you will be contacted before items are requested. UO faculty: Article copies and book loans are free for faculty. If a copy of an entire book is needed faculty pay the photocopy costs.
UO Alumni Association Members and Oregon Card holders: The fee for for each filled interlibrary loan request is $15. Lending ibraries may charge additional fees.
