The Collaboration Center is a flexible, conveniently located space where UO instructors, academic support providers, and student services professionals can meet with students one-on-one or in groups.

Location

The Collaboration Center is located in the Knight Library main floor commons, near the research & information desk. (See map)

Description

The Collaboration Center is equipped with ten movable tables, 24 chairs, and a cart with LCD projector. If you plan to use the use the projector, you will need to provide a laptop (*). Two whiteboards are provided; bring your own dry-erase markers. 

(*) Effective June 2009, laptop loans for students are available from the Science Library. Faculty and GTFs in need of a laptop loan should contact the  Center for Media and Educational Technologies.

Policies

Faculty and Staff: Priority use of the Collaboration Center is for University of Oregon instructors, academic support providers, and student services professionals conducting meetings with students one-on-one or in groups. The room may be reserved in advance for groups of ten or more but is otherwise open on a drop-in basis.

To avoid conflict with reserved uses, check the daily schedule posted at the door before beginning your session. In order to preserve flexibility for ad-hoc and drop-in sessions, the Collaboration Center is not generally available for regular meetings of term-length courses.

If you are interested in having a librarian participate in your Collaboration Center session, contact a subject specialist associated with your area of study. For general or introductory sessions, contact Barbara Jenkins, Director, Library Instruction and Campus Partnerships (6-1925).

Students: Subject to availability, individual students or study groups may use the Collaboration Center on a drop-in basis, with the understanding that the space needs to be shared with other drop-in users. To avoid conflict with reserved uses, check the daily schedule posted at the door before beginning your session. If your study group needs to schedule a reserved space, please refer to the Study Rooms page.

Food and Drink: Food and drink is permitted in this area. Please keep drinks in rigid, spill-proof travel mugs or pull-top bottles, clean up any spills or crumbs, and properly dispose of all trash.
