UO WorldCat

UO WorldCat is now the primary tool to find books and other information sources available through the University of Oregon Libraries. It is accessible as the default search (under the Catalog tab) in the search box on the library Web pages. Searching UO WorldCat draws results from a number of databases, including the the UO Local catalog, Summit, and WorldCat, and several large periodical indexes.

For books, videos, music, journal titles and items found in other library catalog, UO WorldCat results are presented in ordered based on how quickly a UO researcher can obtain the item: items held by the UO Libraries appear on top, items held by Summit libraries appear next, then items that are held only by libraries outside the Orbis Cascade Alliance (Summit libraries) appearing last.

Held by: UO Libraries
These items are in the collections of the University of Oregon Libraries. If the status is AVAILABLE, the item should be on the shelf and ready for use. If you are not on the campus where the item is located, you may use the REQUEST ITEM feature to have the item delivered to a more convenient location.
Held by: Summit Libraries
These items are not in the UO Libraries' collections but are held by one of the other member institutions of the Orbis Cascade Alliance. You may use the REQUEST SUMMIT ITEM button to have the item sent to UO Libraries' for you to pick up. Items usually arrive within 5 days.
Held by: WorldCat Libraries
These items are not held by the UO Libraries or any of our Summit partners but may be requested from another library using the REQUEST ITEM THROUGH INTERLIBRARY LOAN button. Material requested through interlibrary loan can be expected to arrive in about 12 days.

You can use the drop-down menu box, after connecting to UO WorldCat to limit the scope of the search in UO WorldCat so that it only displays results from the UO Libraries or from Summit libraries. There is also an advanced search form that gives more options for refining or limiting your search.

UO Local Catalog

This searches only the UO library catalog using the traditional interface. This may be preferred by some users for particular types of searches. Browse a monthly list of new acquisitions. UO Local is useful for some items in the library's collection.

Other Library Catalogs

Search for books and more in other library catalogs, including the Eugene Public Library and the Center for Research Libraries (CRL).

Specialized Catalogs

Search for books and more in specialized catalogs of narrow scope and interest. These catalogs may reflect the collection of a specialized library or may provide information about unique materials.

Publisher Directories

Search publisher directories to find information on the availability of books and journals, as well as information about the publishers of these materials.
