Welcome to the University of Oregon Library.
The UO Libraries, the largest research library in the state, includes the Knight Library, several branch libraries, and educational technology departments. They offer a wide range of collections and resources to support campus instruction, research, and service.
The following information is designed to answer common faculty questions. For additional information please consult our Library FAQ or contact your library subject specialist.
| Your Subject Specialist | The University of Oregon Libraries' provide UO departments and programs with a subject specialist librarian who acts as primary liaison to the UO Libraries. The subject specialist works with departmental faculty, staff and students to understand and support the research and information needs of the academic unit, support instruction, and provide referrals to the many services offered by the UO Libraries. | Request Materials for Library Purchase | Each UO discipline has a librarian ("subject specialist") who selects material for the library's collections. In addition, your department has designated someone as a library representative. Requests can be made through your library representative, directly with your subject specialist, or through an online Book Request Form or Video Request Form.

| Reserves & Videos | Reserves can be established for required course readings and viewings. Two options are available:
For more on the Reserve Service check Course Reserves: Faculty Information Videos can be checked out by the UO community. To ensure a video will be available on the day you need it for classroom viewing, it is advisable to book the video in advance. |

| Instructional Technology Support | Center for Educational Technologies offers consulting for UO faculty using instructional technology and multimedia. Areas of expertise include:
Media Services provides one-on-one or group instruction on use of classroom equipment. Campus classroom equipment lists equipment, classroom photographs, layout,and general instructions for campus classrooms. Media Services handles booking requests for educational technology not available in your classroom. |
| Faculty Carrels | Faculty carrels are available in the Knight Library. Please inquire about reserving a carrel at the Office of the Librarian, Knight Library [M-F, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm]or phone 346-3056. |
| Interlibrary Loan | Books not held by the UO may be requested through Summit. These books will arrive in 2-4 days. Requests for journal articles can be made through FindText. To request journal articles and materials not available through Summit or FindText, please refer to Interlibrary Loan. |
| Renewing Materials and Other Circulation Questions | Most borrowed materials may be renewed electronically through View Your Patron Record option or by calling 346-3065. For additional information on circulation topics please see Borrowing Materials. |
| Copy Cards | Your faculty ID functions as a copy card using the Campus Cash system. See Library Copiers for information about this service or about charging copies to a budget/departmental number. |
| Classrooms | Knight library has five classrooms designed as teaching laboratories. Classroom have computers for hands-on instruction and projectors for the instructor's monitor. Descriptions of these rooms and scheduling guidelines are available at Classrooms, Meeting Rooms, and Studios. |
| Proxy Cards | The Library Proxy Program allows UO Faculty to designate one person to act as their representative to check out Library materials. |
| Keeping Up | The Library has two Web pages designed to keep you informed of new collections and services.

| Reference/Questions | The UO Libraries provide several avenues for requesting assistance from a Reference Librarian. You may also contact your subject specialist directly. |
| Managing Bibliographic Citations/EndNote | The Library offers assistance with EndNote. This software program transfers citations from the UO Library Catalog and commercial databases into user's own database. This software can quickly format citations in a variety of bibliographic styles in a word processing document. Currently, we can assist you with your personal copy of the software (the University does not have campus wide access to the software). |

| Scholars' Bank | Scholars' Bank is an open access digital archive for University of Oregon research and publications, including preprints, technical reports, working papers, presentations, student terminal projects, data sets, and more. |
