  • Mint Global

  • ORBIS
    ORBIS from Bureau van Dijk is another interface for Mint Global. Coverage of database is the same as Mint Global.

MERGERS & ACQUISiTIONS

  • SDC Platinum Mergers & Acquisitions
    Mergers & Acquisitions provides comprehensive details on all announced deals, whether completed or uncompleted. The database covers U.S. targets 1979 to present and Non U.S. targets 1985 to present. Data available include full financial details, advisors and fees, premiums paid, etc.

BANKRUPTCIES

  • Brankrutpcy Statistics
    The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts compiles statistics on bankruptcy filings for each quarter ending December, March, June and September.
  • Internet Bankruptcy Library (IBL)
    The IBL includes six subject areas (News Archives, Periodicals, Books, Conferences, Bankruptcies Forum, Local Bankruptcy Rules) related to large-scale business restructurings. A fee-based site with some free information.
  • PACER
    The PACER (Public Access to Court Electroic Records) Service Center is the Federal Judiciary's centralized registration, billing, and technical support center for electronic access to U.S. District, Bankruptcy, and Appellate court records. Registration required. There is a fee to access the web based PACER systems.
  • Statistical Abstract of the United States
    Go to Business Enterprise. Click Tables for Business Enterprise Section to find the tables on bankruptcies.

To find journal, or magazine, or newspaper articles, search the following databases:

  • Business Source Premier
    Full text from nearly 930 journals covering business, management, economics, banking, finance, accounting and much more. In addition to the full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for nearly 1,570 journals.
  • Factiva
    Factiva offers full text of 8,000 international business and general publications including the Wall Street Journal from 1984 to the present, financial profiles for companies worldwide and historical stock prices as well as current data and market indexes.
  • JSTOR: Electronic Journal Archive
    A fully searchable electronic database that contains the scanned images of over 100 major research journals in a variety of academic disciplines including business and economics, some of which began publication as early as the 1870s.
  • Lexis-Nexis Academic
    Comprehensive coverage of current news, business and company information, government and legal information.
  • Wall Street Journal (Eastern Edition)
    The Wall Street Journal, the financial newspaper of record, is an indispensable source for business professionals, providing business and financial news coverage, personal and company profiles, feature reporting, special reports, and regular columns. The database provides the full-text articles from the Wall Street Journal going back to at least 1986, with some material from earlier years. It includes the entire text of written articles, but no graphs or data, such as stock prices.

  • InsiderInfo Business -- Information on Real Estate, Employment, Financing, Accounting, Business Lawyer, and thousands of other business related products and service.
  • Researching Companies Online -- A business research tutorial that provides step-by-step instruction for finding company and industry information on the Web.
  • ThomasNet (formerly Thomas Register) -- ThomasNet is a directory containing over 72,000 product headings and 170,000 U.S. and Canadian manufacturers. It allows you to search by product, company or brand name. Provides you with basic contact information as well as links to websites and e-catalogs. Free registration required for some features.
  • Websters Online -- A business directory/search engine. Provides company profiles and contact information. SIC/NAICS Codes and product information can also be found.
