COLLECTIONS

The UO Portland Library and Learning Commons serves the needs of students and faculty associated with the UO's Portland-based architecture, digital arts, journalism, product design, and law programs.

Our core architecture collection of approximately 9,000 volumes focuses on contemporary architecture, urban design, and sustainable design. We are further supported by the collection of the A&AA Library in Eugene, which includes architectural drawings, theses, and terminal projects. We are building strength in strategic communication, marketing, advertising, visual communication, product design, material studies, and law.

To get a better sense of our collection, check in with our semiregular reading lists:  White Stag Reads.

In addition to our on-site collections and services, we assist students and faculty in accessing the rich collections of the UO Libraries in Eugene, and of the thirty-five Summit member libraries in Oregon and Washington. Items from all of these libraries can be picked up at our location, usually within 48 hours of ordering.

Users of the Library and Learning Commons have full access to the electronic resources offered by the UO Libraries. These include our article databases, as well as our digitized photo, map, and image collections.

BORROWING

Most items in the UO Portland Library & Learning Commons are in open shelves, and are listed in the UO Libraries online catalog.

UO-affiliated users may borrow items from the Library using their UO ID card. Non-UO-affiliated users who are at least 16 years old and residents of Oregon may borrow from us using a barcoded, scannable library card or an Oregon card. Loan periods vary by item and user.

You may request to have items sent from the UO Libraries in Eugene, as well as many regional university and college libraries. Please see Requesting Materials from Other Libraries.

Please check our hours and contact pages to plan your visit to the Library and Learning Commons.
